HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

I work with clients who would like to work on the following: symptoms of depression and low mood, symptoms of anxiety, panic and worry, symptoms of acute and complex trauma, any difficulties regulating your emotions, including anger management, feelings of overwhelm or stress, whether in one’s personal life or work life, feelings of low self-worth, or feeling lost and stuck in life, relationship concerns, family dynamic difficulties, existential and spiritual concerns (e.g. finding meaning), adjusting to major life transitions or changes, managing symptoms of chronic pain or adjusting to a chronic health problem.
Please note that I do not provide independent assessments or medico-legal reports for the purposes of third-party insurance matters or legal issues.

Therapeutic Approach

I adopt an integrative approach whereby, depending on your preference and situation, I will often work with one or more of the following therapeutic models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness based practices, Compassion based therapies, Schema Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

Cost and Rebates

The fee for a standard 50-minutes consultation is $230. This fee is below that recommended by the Australian Psychological Society, which is currently set at $311 per session.

Medicare Rebate for Mental Health Care Plan Referrals

If you are an Australian Citizen, you may be eligible to be referred under the Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your General Practitioner, which allows for a Medicare Rebate of up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Clients may be eligible for another rebatable 10 sessions per calendar year under the current COVID-19 mental health support scheme.

The Medicare Rebate for a standard consultation with a Clinical Psychologist is $141.85.

Cancellation Policy

Under One Life Psychology’s cancellation policy, clients are required to give two business day’s notice to cancel appointments. Cancellations that are given 24-48 hours notice will incur 50% of the full fee and cancellations that are given 0-24 hours notice will incur the full fee. Appointment reminders are sent 48 hours before appointments. Cancellations can be made by calling or emailing. I apply the cancellation policy in order to have notice to provide the appointment to someone waiting for treatment.

Private Health Rebates

If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim rebates. These claims are made from you directly with your insurer after full payment for the session. Please note that you are unable to claim from your private health insurer if you are accessing rebates through Medicare.
